As a development organization, WAVE Foundation carrying out a multifaceted action plan to establish a society that is poverty free and built on equality to overcome challenges that prevailed in poverty eradication and livelihood development. The completion of this challenging task necessitates diligent effort through the adoption of integrated action plans and processes. WAVE Foundation is following a holistic, multi-dimensional, and equitable process as part of sustainable and resilient livelihood development. All projects and initiatives are undertaken with greater emphasis on economic growth and empowerment of the extremely poor, persons with disabilities, food security and nutrition, justice for climate risk victims, and gender equality in underserved communities. WAVE has embedded its focus on the holistic growth of people and communities, with a focus on agricultural production, fisheries, the development of livestock, including Black Bengal goats (BBG Farming) community-based financing, technical assistance, connections to market systems, and skill development for social and economic change. WAVE is also assisting in developing small and medium enterprises centered on agriculture and small business to generate employment possibilities for all people. The creation of self-employment opportunities through various schemes and gradual promotion to institutional employment is facilitated. The informal sector makes up the vast majority of businesses in the nation (99.8%). Young people and women have the greatest potential in this sector. In this context, WAVE has started projects and programs that concentrate on the informal sector. Besides, WAVE is accelerating the process for people to have easier access to education, and healthcare services, particularly for children and pregnant women. These extensive and multifaceted development initiatives contribute to the country’s economy since these interventions enable the country’s underserved communities to escape the worst forms of extreme poverty while simultaneously fostering human growth.

Pathways to Prosperity for Extremely Poor People – European Union (PPEPP-EU) Project
Pathways to Prosperity project supports extremely poor people to connect with mainstream economic growth and jobs though enhanced skills and created employment opportunity in different dimension for sustainable development. The objectives of the project are to enable two million people (500,000 households) to exit from extreme poverty for good and support the development of stronger national institutions & systems to deliver services for the targeted group to become resilient and prosper; and increased GoB investment in quality service provision to extremely poor households in the targeted communities; and GoB increases funding for programs for livelihoods of extremely poor people. It is a holistic multidimensional development project with 03 major components i.e. Resilient Livelihood; Nutrition and Community Mobilization including 03 crosscutting issues of inclusion of Person with Disabilities (PWDS), Gender Equality and Climate Justice. WAVE Foundation is implementing the project in vulnerable southwest districts named Patuakhali with the support of PKSF funding from the UK Aid and the European Union. WAVE will directly serve more than 6000 extremely poor households in the selected vulnerable districts in the first phase (2020-2025).
