WAVE Foundation aims to establish a society free from poverty and built on equality. WAVE implements a multifaceted action plan that follows a holistic, multi-dimensional, and equitable approach to sustainable and resilient livelihood development to achieve this goal. Our projects and initiatives focus on economic growth and empowerment of the extremely poor and persons with disabilities, justice for climate risk victims, and gender equality in underprivileged and underserved communities. WAVE’s unwavering commitment lies in fostering the all-encompassing development of people and communities. With a sharp focus on ensuring food security and nutrition, agricultural production, fisheries, livestock development, community-based financing, technical assistance, skill development, and connections to market systems, the program aims to bring about a tangible and positive change for social and economic progress. We also support the development of small and medium enterprises centered on agriculture and small businesses to generate employment opportunities for all people. WAVE has initiated programs and projects geared towards developing the informal sector, focusing on harnessing the potential of young people and women. WAVE’s extensive and multifaceted development initiatives contribute to the country’s overall economy and help individuals escape the worst forms of extreme poverty while simultaneously fostering human growth. 

Pathways to Prosperity for Extremely Poor People project supports destitute people in connecting with mainstream economic growth and jobs through enhanced skills and creates employment opportunities in different dimensions for sustainable development. The objectives of the project are to enable two million people (500,000 households) to exit from extreme poverty for good, to support the development of vital national institutions & systems to deliver services for the targeted group to become resilient and prosperous, and to enhance quality service provision and increase GoB funding for livelihood programs targeting extremely poor and destitute households in selected communities. WAVE Foundation is implementing the project in vulnerable southwest districts named Patuakhali with the support of PKSF funding from the UKAid and the European Union. WAVE will directly serve more than 6000 extremely poor households in the selected vulnerable districts in the first phase (2020-2025).
