As per the government decision from 10 May 2020, the limited number of general stores were opened. To prevent coronavirus infection and health risks among the general public, WAVE Foundation installed a disinfection tunnel at the main entrance of Darsana Rail Bazaar which was inaugurated by Mr. Haji Md. Ali Azgar Togor, Honorable Member of Parliament, Chuadanga-2. Damurhuda Upazila Chairman Mr. Ali Monsur Babu, Damurhuda Upazila Nirbahi Officer Mr. S.M Munim Lincon, Former District Council Administrator of Chuadanga Mr. Mahfuzur Rahman Monju, President of Darshana Rail Bazar Shop Owners Association Md. Tipu Sultan and, General Secretary Sabir Hossain Mika and Eminent C&F Businessman Mr. Atiyar Rahman Habu were present as special guests during the inauguration of the tunnel.
On behalf of WAVE Mr. Amirul Islam (Director, Finance & Accounts), Md. Kitab Ali (Coordinator), Anisur Rahman (Coordinator), Hasmat Kabir (Deputy Coordinator), Kamruzzaman Juddho (Deputy Coordinator), Mahabubur Rahman Mukul (Deputy Coordinator) including the Officers from various levels of the Base Office and ENRICH Program were present on that occasion. Assistant Engineer of Solar Irrigation Project Mr. Shafiullah Sarkar, Accounting Officer Mr. Mosharraf Hossain and Program Officer of Automation Division Moinul Hossain, WAVE Foundation Base Office assisted in the construction and installation of the sensitized disinfectant tunnel using various locally procured materials. The construction and installation of the tunnel cost is about 18,000 Taka.
