On 4 November 2025, Youth Assembly in collaboration with the United Nations Youth Advisory Group (UNYAG) jointly hosted an interactive session titled “A Glimpse into Project Design and Solution Incubation” at the UN House in Dhaka. The session assembled motivated young people eager to turn their ideas into meaningful and impactful community-based initiatives.
The session was honored by the presence of Susan Vize, Head of Office and UNESCO Dhaka Representative along with representatives from various UN agencies who shared valuable insights on youth engagement, leadership and development. Their participation highlighted the importance of strengthening young people with practical tools to design sustainable and solution-oriented projects. Facilitated by Minhajul Islam, a member of Youth Assembly, the session aimed to provide participants with a structured and hands-on understanding of project design from problem analysis to solution incubation. The facilitation encouraged critical thinking, participatory discussion and collaborative learning throughout the session.
Participants actively took part in practical exercises that strengthened their ability to define real-world problems, identify key stakeholders and set clear achievable goals. Throughout the session, participants engaged in practical exercises focused on:
• Defining real-world community problems
• Identifying key stakeholders
• Setting clear and achievable goals
• Distinguishing between projects, programs and activities
• Understanding core project phases
• Applying tools such as the 5W1H (What, Why, Who, Where, When, How) framework and root-cause analysis
Special emphasis was placed on understanding community and district contexts and choosing solutions that are inclusive, sustainable and impactful.
Reflecting on the learning experience, Youth Assembly’s member Sumaiya Akter shared, “This session helped me clearly understand how an idea can be transformed into a well-structured project. The practical tools and discussions gave me confidence to design solutions that truly respond to community needs.”
The session provided a strong base in project design and solution incubation, empowering young participants with analytical skills and practical methodologies to develop effective, context-driven initiatives. The session endorsed Youth Assembly and UNYAG’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of youth leaders and empowering them to be active, capable changemakers within their communities.
