WAVE Foundation, with support from the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), commemorated World Tourism Day through a vibrant series of activities at the Agroecology Learning and Tourism Center (Former Go Green Center) in Chuadanga. The observance was organized with a renewed commitment to establishing Agro-Ecological Tourism in the region an emerging concept aimed at promoting climate-resilient rural tourism, environmental sustainability and community-based eco-entrepreneurship. The day’s program commenced with a thematic essay presentation, highlighting the global significance of tourism, its evolving trends and the transformative potential of agro-ecological tourism in Bangladesh. It emphasized how sustainable tourism can contribute to rural livelihoods, environmental conservation and cultural preservation.

Following the discussions, a vibrant community rally and symbolic tree-planting highlighted environmental stewardship, a key principle of agro-ecological tourism. The event attracted social leaders, local entrepreneurs, students, fruit growers, and civil society members, reflecting growing recognition of tourism as a driver of environmental conservation, economic opportunity, and community empowerment. Through this celebration, WAVE strengthened its commitment to promoting sustainable, community-led tourism initiatives.
