Advocacy Toolbox
Background
Bangladeshi civil society organizations at the sub-national level play an important role in social programming, in advocating for citizens’ rights and improved service delivery through responsive governance at the local level. However, they often face challenges in their organizational capacity and ability to engage different stakeholders in effective advocacy.
To assist the CSOs to design and implement an evidence-based advocacy campaign to advance democratic governance issues, Promoting Advocacy and Rights (PAR) worked with its partner, WAVE Foundation and developed an Online Advocacy Toolbox, which is a searchable online repository of advocacy-related tools and resources generated by Promoting Advocacy and Rights (PAR) and Counterpart International (CPI) implemented Advocacy projects. The Online Toolbox is housed at WAVE Foundation and will remain available after the project ends.
Goal
The overarching goal is to build a locally owned and managed resource that contributes to increased and effective advocacy in Bangladesh.
Objectives
- To establish a community-driven and contextually appropriate repository of advocacy tools;
- To provide a platform for individual activists and organizations to share information and build relationships;
- To upload and share stories, lessons, and opportunities for more effective advocacy.
