Activities of health goods distribution to prevent coronavirus
Chuadanga district
Masks distribution in Darshana municipal area: On last 25 March 2020, at the Darshana bus stand, the initiative of the WAVE Foundation base office and the WAVE Trade Training Center distributed 450 masks to the local people and rickshaw-van drivers to combat the deadly coronavirus infection and its effects.
Masks distribution by the joint venture of WAVE Foundation and Loak Morcha of Jibannagar Upazila: On last 27 March 2020, at the traffic crossing of Jibannagar upazila, by the joint initiative of the WAVE Foundation and Loak Morcha a total number of 200 masks were distributed to the local people and rickshaw-van drivers to combat the deadly coronavirus infection and its effects. On that occasion, elected representatives of Jibannagar upazila and various unions, presidents and general secretary of upazila Loak Morcha, representatives of local daily newspapers and staff members of various levels of the WAVE Foundation were present.
Aiding the relief fund to all Upazila Executive Officers of the district: On last 30 March 2020, 350 pieces of soap were provided to the Damurhuda upazila Executive Officer Mr. S. M. Munim Linkon and more 350 pieces were provided to the Alamdanga upazila Executive Officer Mr. Md. Liton Ali. Besides, on last 4 April 2020, 300 pieces of soaps were given to the Jibannagar upazila executive officer Mr. Md. Shirajul Islam and upazila chairman Mr. Hafijur Rahman on behalf of the WAVE Foundation. Officials of the respective upazila executive office and officers of WAVE foundation were present during the transfer of the goods.
Masks and soaps distribution to the solar irrigation pump operator: On last 5 April 2020, among the 70 solar pump operators each was provided with 2 mask and 1 soap under the organization’s Solar Irrigation Project of Renewable Energy Program.
Meherpur District
Aiding the relief fund to all Upazila Executive Officers of the district: On last 2 April 2020, Mehrpur sadar upazila Executive Officer Mr. Maksudul Alam was provided with 200 pieces of soap in the relief fund of the upazila administration. Officials of the respective upazila executive office and officers of WAVE foundation were present during the transfer of the goods.
Barishal District
Distribution of masks among poor people: On last 7 April 2020, the youths of 6 unions in Bakerganj distributed mask and soap among 1200 poor and helpless people.
Dhaka metropolis
Distribution masks and hygiene goods: On last 24 March 2020, 50 mask and 50 soaps were distributed among the 50 rickshaw pullers, hygiene workers, vegetable-fruit sellers and guards, under the ‘Active Citizens’ project by the youth’s initiative around the Lalmatia area of Dhaka city. Besides, on last 1 and 2 April 2020, Adabar to Shyamoli highway and Mehedibagh area of Adabar 30 no. ward in Dhaka city, abiding by the health rules under the demonstration of Mr. Anwar Hossain (Deputy Executive Director of the organization), 1200 masks and 1000 soaps were distributed among the 500 families by the help of 17 officers and 15 volunteers of the main branch to prevent the spreading of coronavirus.
Magura district
Distribution of masks and hygiene goods: In order to prevent the outbreak of coronavirus around the country, on last 5, 6 and 12 April 2020 under the project ‘Responsiveness of Public Services through Strengthening Participatory Governance –Response’; 380 soaps and 380 masks were provided, whereas 2 soaps and 2 masks in each family consisting a number of total 190 poor families got facilitated in 3 unions of Sreepur upazila of Magura district. Respective Union Parishad chairman, UP secretary, UP member, root level member of social organization Loak Morcha, 2 project officers including the members of projects community group were present during the transfer of the goods. Besides, more 1250 poor families got enlisted who will get the same goods very soon.
