Promoting Democratic Inclusion and Governance through Youth- PRODIGY

Program: Decentralization & Responsive Governance

Promoting Democratic Inclusion and Governance through Youth- PRODIGY

The aim of the PRODIGY project is to harness young peoples power for advocacy and social change to creatively engage wider groups in Bangladeshi society and increase civic participation. Using theatre performance and through role-play, youth participants increase their capacity to reach marginalized members of the population, including women, who often lack knowledge about their own rights and about the tangible role they can play to promote greater transparency and accountability at local and national levels. The project also facilitates young people to undertake community development initiatives and provides financial supports to the best initiatives. The project is implemented in 2 Municipalities and 1 UP under Chuadanga district. U.S. State Department supports the project.
